You can extract the sample rate in the WAV header, but if you need the actual frequency data of the audio that was recorded, i.e. How much energy at 200Hz, how much at 2kHz, how much at 8kHz, etc. You need to do an FFT, or run it through a spectrogram.
- I am creating an audio player using the Java Sound API (using J2SDK 1.4.2). WAV files are stored in a database. These WAV files are passed to me in the form of a byte array (headers included). Is there any easy way to extract the audio data without building a parser? I've been creating an.
- Apr 30, 2010 Hello everyone, I would like to take a wave file and extract the raw binary data from it. All I have is a 5 sec recorded wav file from the user that I want to use as measurement of the 'ambient noise' that the device is in. My program is primarily in VB.net, but the code in C.net or C# will do just fine; I can incorporate the DLL into my vb.
I have the following file: client_sounds.dat
It is over 2GB in size and when the file properties are checked, shows no sign of being read only or restricted in any way.
I wish to extract the audio content that is in the file, which is in Ogg Vorbis format.
I have tried a tool called 'Audiorip' from a command prompt, but it cannot find any audio content within the .dat file.
I have tried 'Audio Extractor' but this also fails.
Yet the file clearly does have audio as it provides it for the program it originated from.
Can anyone recommend a program that will firstly allow me to view the contents of the .dat file and then extract it?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Please not that this enterprise is not in anyway a copyright infringement.

Extract Date From Text Excel
I recently received a Word Document (.docx) that had a series of .wav files embedded into it. I wanted to extract the audio wav files as separate files. I tried to save the doc as an HTML file, hoping I would get the wav files, but that did not work. The way that I did extract the wav files out without having to script with VB is the following (this works in Open Office writer too):
1. Right click on the embedded file’s icon.
2. Choose Package Object, Edit Package.
Extract Wav From Sf2
3. The Object Packager window will appear outside Word (or Writer).
Extract Data From Wav Python
4. Click on File, Save Contents.
5. Name the file whatever it is named in the Object Packager window (example audio.wav), and choose where to save it.
6. Now test out the audio with an audio player installed on your computer. Repeat the steps for each file. This could be time consuming if there are a lot of audio files embedded in the Word document.

I hope this helps!
